How does the initial consultation work? +
Your first conversation with Ausumn is always complimentary and completely obligation-free. We spend an hour learning about your space, your lifestyle, your aesthetic instincts, and your timeline. You'll leave with a clear sense of how we work and what a project with us would look like — we'll leave with everything we need to prepare a tailored proposal.
How long does a full interior design project take? +
Most full interior design projects run between 8 and 16 weeks from design sign-off to final reveal. The timeline depends on the scale of your home, complexity of custom fabrication, and procurement lead times. We'll give you a detailed project schedule at the start — and we hold to it.
Do you work outside Bengaluru? +
Yes. We work on full-service projects across India and offer our Virtual Consulting service to clients anywhere in the country. For projects in other cities, we'll discuss travel requirements and logistics as part of the initial proposal.
Can I be as involved (or uninvolved) as I want? +
Absolutely. Some of our clients want to be at every material selection; others prefer to receive a complete proposal and say yes or no. We adapt to you. What we never compromise on is your sign-off at every key milestone — no decision that affects your home is made without your input.
What if I only have a rough idea of what I want? +
A rough idea is a perfect starting point — often better than a fully formed one, because it gives us room to bring something unexpected and right. Our discovery process is specifically designed to draw out a clear, detailed brief from even the most open-ended starting point.
How do you handle the procurement and vendor side? +
Completely. We brief, manage, and hold accountable every vendor, fabricator, and supplier on your project. You never have to chase a carpenter or follow up on a delivery. All procurement runs through Ausumn — and we only work with vendors whose quality and reliability we've personally vetted.
Are your fees a percentage of the project cost? +
No. We charge a flat professional fee that is agreed and fixed before any work begins. We believe percentage-of-project models create a misalignment of interests — a designer should never have an incentive to spend more of your money. Our fee is our fee, regardless of what the final furnishings cost.
What makes Ausumn different from other design studios? +
Three things, consistently: the depth of our listening process (we genuinely design for your life, not for a portfolio shot), our project management rigour (delays and overruns are the norm in this industry — not with us), and the quality of our vendor and artisan network, built over years of working in Bengaluru and beyond.
